SNAP Tours The Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeier Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit
There are many reasons to be hopeful in the fight against breast cancer. Breast cancer survival rates continue to increase and progress against breast cancer occurs due to early detection and more effective, less toxic treatments – progress that comes from research.
The London Regional Cancer Program is dedicated to being a centre of excellence for breast cancer research. Laurie & Al Desrochers, owners of SNAP London, joined a tour of the Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeier Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit. Translational research involves the transfer and advancement of knowledge from basic research through to the implementation of new clinical practices – bringing breakthroughs in the lab to the patient’s bedside as quickly as possible.
