$425,000 Raised For Children’s Hospital!
Crosby's Challenge was a fundraising initiative that challenged Southwestern Ontario to give back to Children's Hospital. Crosby Culliton is a 4 yr old Stratford boy who was diagnosed with Leukemia 3 years ago. He is doing well and his parents are so grateful they created Crosby's Challenge. Every donation to Children's Hospital up until December 31, 2009 was matched by the Culliton family to a maximum of $100,000. Nine Walmart stores took up that challenge by asking customers to round up their purchases with that rounded up total going to Crosby's Challenge. Walmart's $48,335.22 cheque presentation to the Culliton family was a highlight in the Crosby campaign! Once all of the generous donations were calculated, Crosby’s Challenge raised an outstanding $425,000!
This money helps Children’s Hospital to continue providing specialized pediatric programs like Art Therapy and Child Life that help make hospital stays a lot easier for kids like Crosby, and helps Children’s Health Research Institute continue their ground breaking research.
