Bill & Ann Fleming were the Honourary Chairs for the Cabin Fever Reliever

Alzheimer Society’s “Cabin Fever Reliever”

On Saturday, February 6, 2010, over 370 guests filled the Best Western Lamplighter Inn for the 17th Annual Cabin Fever Reliever Dinner and Auction. Hosted by the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex, the event netted a record $72,000 for much-needed Alzheimer Society programs and services.

Among the many prominent guests in attendance were Irene Mathyssen, MP for London-Fanshawe, the Honourable Chris Bentley, MPP for London West, Attorney General and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, and Anne Marie DeCicco – Best, Mayor of London.

“Never before has your support of this cause been more important,” said Betsy Little, CEO of the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex. Mrs. Little referenced a recent report by the Alzheimer Society of Canada which predicts an alarming increase in Alzheimer’s cases over the next 30 years. By 2016, an 18 per cent increase in Alzheimer’s cases is expected to occur in the South Western Ontario region alone.

The Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex offers a range of support services, information and education to people with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. Through the First Link® program, the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex connects people diagnosed with Alzheimer's to important community resources as early in the disease process as possible.
